Caravan holidays in Perranporth

Perranporth

Small but perfectly formed, Perranporth has everything you could wish for from a caravan holiday, whether you're after a chilled-out beachside holiday or an all-action, adrenaline-fuelled surfing break.

Why Book A Caravan Holiday In Perranporth?

Situated on the northern coast of Cornwall, Perranporth boasts an impressive three miles of golden sands and is something of a Mecca for surfers, who come from far and wide to check out its fantastic waves. The town claims to be the home of surfing, where the first surfboards were made after the First World War.

Its historical claims to fame don't end there, with the patron saint of Cornwall, St Piran, alleged to have washed up on the shores of Perranporth in the fifth century, and the ruins of the church he built are still present in the sand dunes to this day. To learn more about the town's intriguing history, visit the Perranzabuloe Museum, which offers a fascinating insight into the area's heritage.

Bringing things up to date, Perranporth today offers an excellent base from which to explore the wonders of Cornwall, and you can't go wrong with booking a caravan holiday to this thriving destination.

It's all about the beaches here, with Perran Beach popular all year round with surfers and dog walkers alike. Children can explore its rock pools and caves; there is even a seawater swimming pool at Chapel Rock.

Things To Do During Your Perranpoth Caravan Holiday

Enjoying an idyllic setting in the heart of the Cornish countryside, Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is well worth a visit. This award-winning, family-run farm produces a renowned collection of ciders, gins and soft drinks, and visitors can take a tractor tour of the farm to see how the apples are lovingly nurtured in the massive orchards and check out the impressive production facility.

The grown-ups can then sample the drinks while the children spend time with farm animals, including donkeys, shire horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, ferrets, peacocks and Pygmy goats. After the tour, the whole family can sit down for a memorable Cornish cream tea in the tea rooms before stocking up on supplies from the gift shop.

A trip on the Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a must for a serene and relaxing way to immerse yourself in the simply sublime Cornish countryside. Jump on an authentic steam train and journey through some of the most beautiful scenery you'll see anywhere. Just remember your camera!

Take a stroll through the captivating woodland, go on a nature trail and enjoy a picnic or a snack in the café before heading out to try your hand at mini-golf while the children can burn off some energy in the indoor and outdoor adventure play areas and enjoy playing on the replica train. You can even bring your precious pooch, too, as dogs on leads are welcome at the attraction.

Close to Perranporth and a definite bucket list outing is a trip to the renowned Newquay Zoo, which is set in 13 acres of sub-tropical gardens and is home to hundreds of animals, including monkeys, zebra, red pandas, mongoose, tapir, warty pigs, wildebeest, meerkats, lemurs and lynx, to name just a few.

Take a walk through the Tropical House, check out the free-flying birds of southeast Asia in the Gems of the Jungle zone, delight in the enchanting Oriental Gardens and get away from it all with the peace and tranquillity of the Secret Garden. Kids won't want to leave the outdoor play area and visitors can stop for refreshments at Tippy's Takeaway or Café Lemur before exiting through the gift shop.

A caravan holiday to Perranporth promises hazy days on the beach, fun-filled family attractions, captivating countryside and coastal views, enchanting towns and villages, and some of the best food you'll find anywhere in the UK, not to mention that unique warm Cornish welcome.
