The gardens are enclosed making them ideal for pets and children, who can run around safely and there are acres of private land to explore with some incredible views of the Mawddach Estuary and beyond. 

Inside, the caravan has a good-sized, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area and sleeps six people in a double bedroom, two singles and a pull-out sofa bed with a shower room completing the accommodation. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything needed to create delicious meals for the holiday party and the sitting area is suitably cosy and welcoming. 

Places to visit during a Pen Coed holiday 

Ideally located close to Barmouth, the caravan is a wonderful base from which to explore the wonders of North Wales.

Barmouth is great for stocking up on any holiday essentials needed for your stay at Pen Coed and it’s also worth staying awhile with some fantastic shops and eateries to browse as well as traditional seaside amusement arcades and fairground rides, which are always a hit with the kids. 

Pack a picnic and a bucket and spade and head to the beach for the day, but the question is which beach? There are so many to choose from it can be hard to know where to begin! Barmouth’s beach (Abermaw) offers miles of golden sands and is popular with families who love building sandcastles and going for a paddle with other stand-out beaches in the area including Aberdyfi, Fairbourne, Llwyngwril, Tal-y-Bont and Harlech. 

Gwynedd is hugely popular with walkers and cyclists who love to make the most of the spectacular scenery on offer. Head out on the Mawddach Trail which stretches for just over nine miles and you can also hook up with the Wales Coastal Path which follows 870 miles of impressive Wales’ coastline and Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance. You’ll be rewarded with some fabulous treks and awe-inspiring views along the way.

If you like getting active then you’ve come to the right place. As well as walking and cycling, you can go for a pony ride at Bwlch Gwyn Horse Riding Centre or try your hand at a selection of water sports including kayaking, paddle boarding and surfing and you can book a sea fishing trip from here, too. 

Days out from Pen Coed include Harlech Castle, Fairbourne Steam Railway, Llanfair Slate Caverns and the Children’s Farm Park, which all offer different appeals but have one thing in common – lots of fun for the whole family to enjoy. 

Jump in the car and go for a road trip to some of Barmouth’s charming neighbouring towns and villages including Dolgellau, Beddgelert, Tywyn and Portmeirion.
