Why Book A Caravan Park In Swanage
Whether you’re after a good old-fashioned British seaside break with donkey rides and Punch and Judy shows or beaches and activities such as kayaking, canoeing, surfing, and paddleboarding, you’ve come to the right place. You are spoilt in and around Swanage, with the town’s Blue Flag beach a must-visit when you’re on a caravan holiday here. Also, head to local beaches such as Sandbanks, Chapman’s Pool, Kimmeridge Bay and Studland for a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Swanage is ideally located in the heart of Dorset on the infamous Jurassic Coast, so you can look forward to long, lazy days at the beach, fossil hunting with the children, dog-friendly walks in nature, loads of family-friendly attractions, a whole host of activities to keep the adrenaline junkies happy, and a warm Dorset welcome to top it all off.
A caravan holiday in Swanage won’t disappoint. There are several different parks in the area, so whether you want loads of on-site facilities or you’re just looking for something simpler where the surroundings do the talking. Swanage Coastal Park boasts some of the most amazing views you’ll find anywhere, while nearby Swanage Bay View has great on-site amenities such as a laundry, an indoor pool, a pub, and a clubhouse. Things To Do In Swanage
A fabulous family attraction, come rain or shine, is Putlake Adventure Farm. This working farm has loads of animals to get up close and personal with, including lambs and goats you can bottle feed, guinea pigs and rabbits to cuddle, and ponies to groom, as well as cows, donkeys, chickens, pigs, horses and alpacas. There is a massive outdoor play area, trampolines, go-karts, and a picnic area so that you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Don’t worry if the sun isn’t shining; there is plenty to do indoors, too. The three-storey indoor play area is just waiting for the kids to get stuck climbing, sliding, crawling, running around, and (hopefully!) getting tired out. The café and gift shop are well worth a visit, too.
For a lazy way to take in the captivating coastline, take a trip on the Swanage Railway, a heritage railway that runs from Norden along to Corfe Castle as far as Swanage. The five-and-a-half mile journey boasts some breathtaking views with nearby walks along the Jurassic coastline, making it well worth planning a day trip. Step back in time at Corfe Castle Station and stop off at Swanage Station for refreshments, a browse around the gift shop or a picnic in the outside picnic area, or for the ultimate outing, why not book a traditional cream tea?
If you’re looking for a healthy, dog-friendly walk which offers enchanting views and sightings of wildlife and bird life along the way, then a visit to Studland Beach and Nature Reserve is a must. Run by the National Trust, there is so much to look at here, from four miles of unspoilt beaches and sand dunes to explore at Studland, amazing views towards Poole Bay and as far as the Isle of Wight from the cliff tops at Old Harry Rocks and there is even a freshwater lake at Little Sea. The adjoining heaths at Studland and Godlingston are protected with rare and unusual species of reptiles, birds and plants found here, so make sure you bring your camera!
A caravan holiday to Swanage is a holiday to remember for all the right reasons.
