Caravan holidays in Poole

Poole

For a quintessential British seaside holiday that ticks all the boxes, Poole in Dorset has it all. Booking a caravan holiday to Poole guarantees a memorable break full of beautiful beaches, fascinating history and culture, great food and drink, a bustling harbour and a captivating Jurassic coastline, not to mention the warm Dorset welcome.

Why Book A Caravan Holiday In Poole?

The town itself is well worth stopping off at and spending a while, with vibrant streets boasting independent shops, boutiques, galleries, cafes, pubs, tea rooms and restaurants and the picturesque harbour, which has loads of alfresco dining opportunities, helps to make it the perfect place to soak up the sun and the stunning surroundings.

Poole is home to Europe’s largest natural harbour and is a hub for watersports enthusiasts, so while you are here, whether you’re a watersports pro or a complete beginner, it is the ideal spot to have a go at jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling.

A short but delightful ferry trip from Poole quayside takes visitors to the enchanting Brownsea Island, which forms part of Purbeck National Nature Reserve and is the largest island in the harbour area, where you will find an oasis of flora and fauna. The island is run in partnership between the National Trust and the Dorset Wildlife Trust, a testament to its historical and natural significance.

The island is known as the birthplace of the scout movement, and you can still camp here and soak up the idyllic surroundings and spectacular views of Purbeck Hills.

Keep an eye out for the elusive red squirrels and the not-so-elusive bird population, with sightings of teal, shelduck, avocet and the willow warbler throughout the year, and let’s not forget the butterflies, which are in abundance here.

Kids can burn off some energy at the natural play area complete with balance beams, a climbing frame and see-saws - head off into the woods on a free family trail, or why not pack a picnic and head to the beach?

Places To Visit From Holiday Parks In Poole

Getting out and about is what a caravan holiday to Poole is about, so while you are here, head to nearby dog-friendly Upton House and Country Park. Whether you’re on a day out with the whole family or on a romantic outing for two, there is something for everyone here.

This award-winning attraction boasts 160 acres of park and woodland, its own private shoreline, landscaped gardens, and a Grade II listed mansion house, all just waiting to be explored. For the children, there is an extensive play area known as Spurrier’s Play Park or the front lawns, where you can enjoy a kick about, or if you want to get away from it all, then head to the Walled Gardens and soak up the peaceful surroundings. There is plenty for our furry friends to do at Upton Country Park, with a designated off-lead dog training and agility area and a DIY dog wash, so there’s no need to worry about the car smelling of wet dog after a trip here!
