So, that's the accommodation sorted, what next? It's time to get out and about exploring. Let's start with Brixham itself, where the harbour is the town's beating heart, with boats coming and going all day, every day, making it the perfect spot for a bit of people (and boat!) watching. A short walk from the harbour is the beautiful Breakwater Beach, which has a Blue Flag and is recommended by the Good Beach Guide. Popular with scuba divers, there is nowhere better to be on a sunny day than here. Located on the seafront is Shoalstone Outdoor Pool, which you just have to visit if you're on a caravan holiday to Brixham. One of only a few left in the UK, this natural seawater swimming pool stretches for 53 metres and has been built into the natural rock. People have been coming here for hundreds of years, and the adjoining shingle beach is the ideal place for a bit of sunbathing after going for a dip in the pool. You can make a day of it, hire a deckchair, and soak up the sublime surroundings while you are here. If you've got a taste for the beach life, you've come to the right place. Why not visit dog-friendly Fishcombe Cove or St Mary's Bay, which is popular with fossil hunters? Suppose you want to get some fresh air and immerse yourself in some local history and nature. In that case, there is nowhere better than Berry Head Nature Reserve, which offers 170 acres of natural habitat to explore and is the gateway to the English Riviera Global Geopark, an internationally renowned heritage site. Dog-friendly, this is a great place to strike out, and whether you're looking for a challenging hike or just a gentle stroll, there are walks to suit everyone. Keep an eye out for the iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic fort on the land, which is also home to some incredible birds and wildlife, so take a camera to capture some of the mesmerising sights and scenery.
