Halloween Activities

Everyone loves Halloween, whether it’s the thrill of trick or treating, the joy of telling scary stories, or the excitement of getting dressed up, so let’s make Halloween 2024 the best one yet…

Let’s explore Halloween activities for 2024

    Activities for Halloween 2024…

The kids can participate in many Halloween activities, from arts and crafts to pumpkin carving and slime making. Picking your own pumpkins adds another level of fun to the celebrations, so why not see where you can go pumpkin picking in your area? Just search Halloween activities near me and see what comes up!

Once you’ve got your pumpkins, the whole family can enjoy creating their own designs. Start by cutting the top off the pumpkin and removing the insides to avoid a smelly mess later!

Try to save as much of the seeds and flesh as you can. You can roast the seeds on top of autumn salads, and the flesh can be used in some recipes, including pumpkin pie and pumpkin soup. Both are delicious seasonal dishes; even better, they mean no waste!

Before you can start carving, outline your design on the outside of the pumpkin. Keep the design elements big to make them easier to cut!

All kids love to make slime, especially at this time of year, making it a top Halloween activity. Try this home-made Halloween slime recipe (adult supervision required):

    • 5oz clear glue
    • 1 tbsp baking soda
    • Green glitter paint
    • 3 tbsp contact lens solution (containing boric acid)

Add the baking soda to the glue, then gradually add the green paint until you get the desired colour. Then, add the contact lens solution and roll it in your hands until it’s no longer sticky. (You can make it less sticky by adding saline solution.) Hey, presto—you have creepy Halloween slime!

    Halloween Costumes for 2024…

Halloween costumes are big business, with people spending more and more each year to get the perfect spooky look.

But you don’t need to spend a fortune to look scary this Halloween, and the planet should create your own costume rather than buying something you only wear once…

Non-toxic, cruelty-free face paint is a great way to elevate your Halloween look in a budget-friendly and eco-friendly way.

Have a good rummage through your wardrobe for clothing that can be adapted for Halloween costumes, particularly anything black.

Buy some glow-in-the-dark tape that can be stuck onto black clothing to create a skeleton outline.

A white sheet can be used to create an instant ghost costume. Add black eyes with a Sharpie or pieces of black material for the ultimate scary ghoul.

Add a wizard’s or witch’s hat to a black costume for the finishing touch.

You can easily make one out of black cardboard rolled into a cone shape and stapled together. Stick shapes and stars on to customise it.
