30 November – Ruthin Christmas Extravaganza
The Ruthin Christmas Extravaganza kicks off the Christmas festivities in North Wales, which are set to be bigger and better than ever for 2024. Spread over seven locations throughout the town, the heart of the event is at Ruthin Gaol Museum and Nantclwyd y Dre.
Promising to be the biggest Christmas market across north and mid-Wales, the extravaganza will host 200 stalls selling a fantastic selection of hand-picked Christmas gifts and locally sourced food and drink with a distinctly festive flavor.
Kids can visit Father Christmas in his grotto (pre-booking required), and there will be a packed program of entertainment throughout the day, including Christmas choirs helping to put everyone in the festive mood with a medley of Christmas carols.
30 November – 1 December – Snowdonia and Local Christmas Market
Showcasing some of the best local producers, the Snowdonia & Local Christmas Market is being held in the bustling town of Betws-y-Coed and promises to be an event to remember.
Unique present ideas for the whole family, as well as artisan arts and crafts, will be available. Seasonal food and drink will be available sourced from the most local and sustainable producers.
With the backdrop of the captivating town of Betws-y-Coed, which becomes a winter wonderland at this time of year, this is an unmissable event for anyone in the area.
6-8 December (and 13-15 December) – Wrexham Christmas Market & Winter Festival
Held over two weekends in December at the idyllic Bellevue Park location in Wrexham, which is lit up to beautiful effect, the Wrexham Christmas market is sure to put you in the mood for all things Christmas.
With authentic alpine stalls and shopping marquees showcasing some of the best hand-picked products, you can find gifts you simply won’t find anywhere else.
With seasonal food and drink on offer, this is the perfect setting to allow yourself to get into the festive spirit topped off by live music, and the children can look forward to a visit from the man himself, Father Christmas.
6-8 December – Portmeirion Christmas Food and Craft Fair
The event takes place at the iconic Italianate village of Portmeirion, which is transformed into a winter paradise. Check out the Portmeirion Christmas Food and Craft Fair for a traditional Christmas atmosphere like no other.
For the kids, there is Santa’s Grotto. For the adults, there is live entertainment throughout the weekend, including cooking demonstrations and workshops to help you make the best Christmas dinner ever.
More than 120 stalls will be dotted throughout the village, showcasing some of the best local gifts, food, and drink on offer. With mulled wine and cider available, too, you can’t help but get into the festive spirit!
8 December – Mold Christmas Market
Starting at the imposing Mold Castle, the Mold Christmas Market promises live music and entertainment, artisan stalls selling festive crafts and gifts, and a whole host of local producers offering seasonal drinks and festive food.
The town becomes a wintry oasis for the evening, with visits from Father Christmas and characters from The Grinch to help get the kids in a festive mood. The grown-ups can enjoy browsing around the town and soaking up the Christmassy atmosphere.
