    Waterfall Walks in North Wales – Aber Falls, Abergwyngregyn

    A relatively easy walk of 1.2 miles that takes in the stunning sight of Aber Falls starts from Abergwyngregyn.

    It goes past the hugely impressive Aber Falls and then back along the North Wales Path, which is located high above the valley and offers dramatic views.

    Aber Falls are located in the northern foothills of the Carneddau range in the far north of Snowdonia National Park and are well worth trying to get to.

    Try a challenging walk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is most definitely worth the effort, thanks to the unforgettable views of the dramatic Swallow Falls, which are created as water from the River Llugwy flows through a narrow gap.

    The trail starts at Ty’n Llwyn car park and takes walkers along some pretty tricky terrain and through enchanting woodlands where you can hear the sound of the waterfalls as you get closer.

    Stop off at the viewing point on the way, which has amazing views of Moel Siabod in Snowdonia.

    Waterfall Walks in North Wales – Grey Mare’s Tail, near Conwy

    A fantastic walk of around 5.5 miles, which takes in not one but two spectacular waterfalls, is the Llanrwst to Trefriw Circular.

    You’ll begin just outside Llanrwst and take walkers along the river Conwy and across fields at Trefiw with the sight of the delightful Fairy Falls, a lovely introduction to the walk. Heading through the woodland at Llanrhychwyn and Gwydir forest.

    The walk continues along the riverside before a small detour takes you to the hugely impressive Grey Mare’s Tail waterfalls, which are actually two waterfalls that drop into a deep plunge pool below, creating an unforgettable spectacle.

    Waterfall Walks in North Wales – Watkin Path Waterfalls

    At just under eight miles, the Watkin Path isn’t a long walk, but it takes walkers through some pretty tricky terrain, so it isn’t for the faint-hearted!

    The highlight of the walk is undoubtedly the Watkin Path Waterfalls, but you’ll pass through plenty of other delights, such as lush forests, dramatic mountains, and babbling waters.

    With some simply outstanding natural wonders to see along the way, this is a walk just bursting with sights and sounds and is hugely popular with wild swimmers.

    Cynfal Falls, Blaenau Ffestiniog

    This short but moderately challenging walk forms part of the stunning Ceunant Cynfal National Nature Reserve.

    It starts in Llan Ffestiniog, following the signposts for Cynfal Falls.

    With lush forests and ancient woodlands at every turn, this is a walk of sensory delights and the renovated Victorian viewing platform allows visitors to admire the falls and their surroundings.
