Let’s get walking…
The Norfolk Coastal Path is the obvious place to start when planning any walks in Norfolk, boasting an impressive 87 miles of spectacular trails, walks, and hikes.
Not only are walkers rewarded by simply stunning views, but there are plenty of wildlife and birds to spot along the way, so lace up those boots and let’s get walking!
Head inland, and the Norfolk Broads are on your doorstep. Here, you will find 190 miles of paths and trails that take in beautiful open fields, marshland, meandering rivers, and spectacular lakes. You will need to have your camera at the ready!
Walks for all ages and abilities…
Some great short walks if you want to build up gently are the Burgh Castle Circular Route, which is easily manageable at one mile, the Aylsham Workhouse Walk, which is two miles long, and the Beccles Marsh Trail, which is four miles long.
Slightly longer walks include the Brancaster Staithe Circular Walk and Hellesden Circular Walk, both approximately five miles, and Little Ouse Path, which is nine miles.
If you’re warmed up and want a bit more of a challenge, then try Marriott’s Way, which is 26 miles in length, or Wherryman’s Way, which is 35 miles and takes in some gorgeous scenery walking along the river Yare between Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
Peddars Way in Norfolk is a favourite among experienced hikers who love the variety of landscape and terrain it covers along its 46-mile length, from ancient woodlands in mid-Norfolk and open heathland to historic priory ruins and the North Norfolk coastline.
