The facilities on the park are top notch with an indoor pool and jacuzzi, an indoor play area and two outdoor play areas - an adventure playground for older kids and a smaller playground for younger children and an on-site bar, restaurant and entertainment venue. There is an impressive a la carte menu to choose from in the restaurant, which diners can enjoy while soaking up the stunning views over Loch Ryan.
Places to visit during a break at Wigbay Holiday Park
Literally on the doorstep of the caravan park is a nine-hole pitch and putt golf course and an equestrian centre with activities such as sailing and fishing also on offer. The river Stinchar is ideal for salmon and trout fishing. Dubbed the Gateway to Galloway, nearby Stranraer is well worth a visit with a fascinating museum and a wealth of shops, bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants. If you want to venture further afield, then jump in the car and head out to Castle Kennedy Gardens, Agnew Park, Dunskey Castle and Monreith Animal Park. If you want a day at the beach, then pack a picnic and a bucket and spade and get yourself along to great beaches at Portpatrick, Drummore and Girvan.
